2019-2020 Hillsborough All-County 3rd Team Selection and Honorable Mention

Updated: Apr 22, 2020

Starting in 2017, Issa Bucket Productions LLC and Bay Area Hoops LLC have teamed together to provide an in-depth analysis of Hillsborough County's top high school basketball performers. Over a two year span we have had over 20 college athletes, 1 professional athlete, an NBA draftee grace the list of our top county players. With our vast team of videographers we are able to cover up to 12 games a week, which allows us to get multiple looks at most teams and players throughout the year. With this database of games we then breakdown our footage with national scout, Reggie Burke of Bay Area Hoops LLC, to provide you with a detailed breakdown of the players in the area. Each team is broken down to have a traditional format of two guards, two forwards, and a center. Key factors in making our team are not only stats but how well they lead their team throughout the season and into the playoffs. With each selection we will also provide a short video to showcase how each prospect played throughout the season.

Here is our 3rd Team Selection:

2021 Combo Guard: Deon Brown

Stats: 16.1 PPG, 3.0 APG, 1.4 SPG

School: Bayshore Christian

Breakdown: Deon Brown was one of Bayshore's Big 3 that helped lead the Faith Warriors to the Final 4. Shooting at 42% this year, Deon proved to be one of Hillsborough County's top knock down shooters. With the loss of their starting point guard and center, Jeremiah Wicks and Harvey Wilson, early on in the season, Brown continuously showed up in big games in their run to Lakeland. Deon shows to have a great flow of the game and always seems to find his sweet spot. Whether he is coming off of screens or in his dribble, Deon is always a threat to knock down an open or contested shot.

2020 SG: Kegan Karnes

Stats: 16 PPG, 2 APG, 1 SPG

School: Berkeley Prep

Breakdown: When it comes to shooting to rock, Kegan Karnes is as good as they come. Playing the shooting guard for Berkeley Prep, Kegan was able to lead the Buccaneers to a 22-5 record and ultimately a district championship while averaging 16 points per game and shooting 40% from three. Although listed as a shooting guard, Karnes is surprisingly crafty with the ball and can break a defender down to sneak to the basket. Playing under Coach Garcia, Kegan also proved to be very efficient coming off on-ball screens and always seemed to have a good pace while making right decision. Karnes proved to be a telling guard after a 32 point performance versus national powerhouse Huntington Prep. With his array of sneaky moves, high IQ decisions, and extended shooting range, Kegan has earned the title as one of Florida's deadliest shooters!

2022 G/F: Anthony "AD" Davis

Stats: 16.5 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 1.3 SPG

School: Blake

Breakdown: Coming from the DMV area, Anthony Davis landed his playing career at Blake High School along side Emanuel Sharp. In his new scenery, Davis showed his own set of skills as an aggressive slasher banging with guards and forwards of all sizes. Playing next to one of the states leading scorers, Anthony proved he had a game of his own as he helped will Blake to a 22-6 winning season that went 11-12 in the previous year. Along with his ability to score, AD was also a tenacious rebounder at 6'4, grabbing almost 7 rebounds a game. As a sophomore, Davis came into Blake with aggression averaging sixteen and half points per game and shows to be signs as one of Hillsborough's elite rising talents!

2022 F: CJ Hawkins

Stats: 14.6 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 1.4 APG

School: Berkeley Prep

Breakdown: Standing at 6'7, CJ Hawkins was the anchor behind Berkeley's success. With the loss of 6'9 center Chase Barrs, CJ had to assimilate the roll of having an inside presence. Although he can bang with the bigs, CJ also finds himself with multiple mismatch opportunities due to his versatility. Hawkins traditionally is a forward so he has abilities to knock down the open shot and take his man off the dribble to score the ball. CJ is also another Berkeley player who makes high IQ decisions and shows up in big games. One of his most underrated attributes is his ability to run the floor and finish above the rim. Sophomore forward CJ Hawkins is sure to be one of Tampa's top rising talents.

2022 F/C: Tony Livingston

Stats: 14.8 PPG, 7.9 RPG, 1.2 APG

School: Seffner Christian

Breakdown: This is the third sophomore to cover this years 3rd team all-county list but certainly not the least. Standing at 6'6 and weighing in at 265, Tony Livingston was a force to be reckoned with down in the paint. Tony currently has 30+ offers on the football field and his attributes as a tight end translate to the court. Tony's soft hands give him the ability to catch and finish with a great touch around the rim. What is most impressive about Mr. Livingston is his ability to stretch the floor and knock down the open or contested three ball. Tony has played the point guard briefly on the EYBL level this previous summer for E1T1 before he began to grow. His versatility at his size now is unmatched as he can also take most centers off the dribble from the top of the key. Tony often shows flashes of Tampa native, Mareese Speights, former 2015 NBA Champion. This year Seffner started off slow in the regular season but Tony was a big part of their playoff run to the regional championship. As Tony continues to grow expect to see big things in store for his game!
